DKV Mobility plans 150-person data and AI team in Porto

DKV Mobility is building a new technology hub in Porto, Portugal, with a clear focus on recruitment in data, artificial intelligence and IT engineering. The centre will support digital products for refuelling, charging and fleet management.

The company says the first specialists have already joined. Around 50 positions are planned by the end of 2026, while the team is expected to grow to roughly 150 people by the end of 2027. At that stage, the group is scheduled to transfer fully into the DKV Mobility organisation.

Part of a wider European hiring plan

The Porto project forms part of a broader initiative to recruit several hundred IT, data and AI engineers across Europe over the coming years. During the build-up phase, Capgemini will work with DKV Mobility as a partner.

Porto was selected because of its universities, growing technology community and availability of specialists with the required data and AI profiles. The new team will work closely with colleagues in Ratingen and Bucharest through shared development processes.

DKV Mobility says the hub will complement, rather than replace, its existing technology sites. No relocation of roles from Ratingen or Bucharest is planned. The company intends to continue recruitment at those locations and to provide further training and development opportunities.

For technology professionals, the structure offers opportunities to work on digital services connected with the transition to electrified and mixed fleets. The company describes Porto as a centre of excellence rather than an isolated satellite team, giving employees a role in a wider European engineering network.
